To Get Started
In consigning item(s) to auction with America’s Best Auctioneer, the seller/consignor retains ownership of the item until the sale of the item at auction. With consignment, ABA devotes all our resources to achieving the best possible price at auction. Since it’s on a commission basis, you can feel assured that we’ll try to get you the best possible price.
ABA accepts consignments throughout the year. We would be delighted to review any item(s) you wish to consign and have a realistic conversation about those important aspects important to all who consign merchandise: how much can I make and how long will it take?
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so the process begins with an image. ABA can provide you with complimentary estimates based on photographs; please also provide any information you may have about the piece: history, condition, etc. The more data we have to work with, the more accurate our assessment.
Submit images by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to ABA, 401 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
Or just fill out the form below.
If circumstances allow or a closer inspection is needed, we may schedule an in-person visit.
We will contact you with an informal auction estimate for your items. Commission rates are flexible and will be determined by the total value and demand of the consignment. You are under no obligation, so ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable with the process. Whichever way you decide, we will work closely with you to establish the details and terms you are comfortable with, taking into account your expectations and market conditions.
Once the details for your consignment are finalized, we will create a Consignor Agreement for you, outlining the agreed upon terms including a comprehensive itemized list of your items. All consigned property is insured on our policy as soon as we take possession of it.
America’s Best Auctioneer attempts to stay competitive in the consignment market for upscale goods. We have instituted a sliding scale method that we think you’ll find more than fair.
If the entirety of your consignment catalog sells for:
$1 to $999, commission rate is 50%
$1,000 to $2,999, commission rate is 35%
$3,000 and up, commission rate is 30%

After The Auction
You will receive payment for your items 30 days after the auction in which it sells. An itemized list will be included for each lot sold as they sell. The payment amount will be calculated as the hammer price of each lot sold, less the commission and any other previously agreed upon fees.
In the unlikely event your item(s) do not sell and you would like to reclaim your consignments, we can arrange for pick-up with just 10 days notice. The consignment contract will be closed.
